Hadith1255

- ﵁: - ﷺ -

Abū Qatāda (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about fasting on Mondays, and he said: "That is a day on which I was born, and a day on which I was sent as a Prophet," or "on which revelation was sent down to me." Narrated by Muslim.

Hadith1256

- ﵁ - - ﷺ -

Abū Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Deeds are presented on Mondays and Thursdays, so I love that my deed be presented while I am fasting." Narrated by al-Tirmidhī, who said, "a good (ḥasan) hadith." Muslim also narrated it without mention of fasting.

ʿĀʾisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to take care to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. Narrated by al-Tirmidhī, who said, "a good (ḥasan) hadith."
