٢٢٤ - باب في مسائل من الصوم

On the authority of Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: "If one of you forgets and eats or drinks, let him complete his fast, for it was only Allah who fed him and gave him drink." Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim).

And on the authority of Laqīṭ ibn Ṣabirah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell me about ablution (wuḍūʾ)." He said: "Perform the ablution thoroughly, run water between the fingers, and be vigorous in drawing water up the nose, unless you are fasting." Narrated by Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī, who said: "A good and sound hadith (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ)."

And on the authority of ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: The dawn would come upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) from intimacy with his wife, then he would perform the full bath (ghusl) and fast. Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim).

And on the authority of ʿĀʾishah and Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter the morning in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) not arising from a wet dream, then he would fast. Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim).
