٢٦٨ - باب النهي عن الإيذاء
Allah the Exalted said:
And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned [i.e., deserved] have certainly borne upon themselves a slander and manifest sin.
It is related from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ (may Allah be pleased with them both) who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe, and the emigrant (muhājir) is the one who abandons what Allah has forbidden." Agreed upon.
It is also related from him, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever loves to be drawn away from the Fire and admitted into Paradise, let his death come upon him while he believes in Allah and the Last Day, and let him treat people the way he loves to be treated." Reported by Muslim. This is part of a long hadith that was mentioned earlier in the chapter on obeying those in authority.
