١٩٥ - باب فضل السنن الراتبة مع الفرائض وبيان أقلها وأكملها وما بينهما

On the authority of the Mother of the Believers, Umm Ḥabībah Ramlah bint Abī Sufyān (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "There is no Muslim servant who prays to Allah, the Exalted, twelve rakʿahs each day voluntarily, over and above the obligatory prayers, but that Allah builds for him a house in Paradise" — or: "but that a house is built for him in Paradise." Narrated by Muslim.

On the authority of Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: I prayed together with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ two rakʿahs before Ẓuhr, two rakʿahs after it, two rakʿahs after the Friday prayer, two rakʿahs after Maghrib, and two rakʿahs after ʿIshāʾ. Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim).

On the authority of ʿAbd Allah ibn Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Between every two calls there is a prayer; between every two calls there is a prayer; between every two calls there is a prayer" — adding on the third time: "for whoever wishes." Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim). What is meant by "the two calls" is the adhān and the iqāmah.
