١٣٧ - باب سلام الرجل على زوجته والمرأة من محارمه، وعلى أجنبية وأجنبيات لا يخاف الفتنة بهن وسلامهن بهذا الشرط

On the authority of Sahl ibn Saʿd (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: There was among us a woman — and in another narration: We had an old woman — who would take the roots of chard (silq), put them in the pot, and grind some grains of barley. When we had prayed the Friday prayer and departed, we would greet her, and she would serve it to us. Narrated by al-Bukhārī. His statement "tukarkiru" means: she grinds.

And on the authority of Umm Hāniʾ Fākhitah bint Abī Ṭālib (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of the Conquest [of Mecca] while he was bathing, and Fāṭimah was screening him with a garment, so I greeted him ... and she related the ḥadīth. Narrated by Muslim.

And on the authority of Asmāʾ bint Yazīd (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by us among a group of women and greeted us. Narrated by Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī, who said: "A good ḥadīth." This is the wording of Abū Dāwūd. The wording of al-Tirmidhī is: that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed through the mosque one day, while a group of women were sitting, and he gestured with his hand in greeting.
