Allah, Exalted is He, said:
رياض الصالحينAbū Zakariyyā Muḥyī al-Dīn Yaḥyā ibn Sharaf al-Nawawī٢١ - باب في التعاون على البر والتقوى
٢١ - باب في التعاون على البر والتقوى
ۚ
O you who have believed, do not violate the rites of Allāh or [the sanctity of] the sacred month or [neglect the marking of] the sacrificial animals and garlanding [them] or [violate the safety of] those coming to the Sacred House seeking bounty from their Lord and [His] approval. But when you come out of iḥrām, then [you may] hunt. And do not let the hatred of a people for having obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Ḥarām lead you to transgress. And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allāh; indeed, Allāh is severe in penalty.
And He, Exalted is He, said:
وَٱلْعَصْرِ
By time,1
قَالَ الإمام الشافعي - ﵀ - كلامًا معناه: إنَّ النَّاسَ أَوْ أكثرَهم في غفلة عن تدبر هذِهِ السورة .
Imam al-Shafiʿi, may Allah have mercy on him, said words whose meaning is: that people, or most of them, are heedless of reflecting upon this sura.
وعن أَبي عبد الرحمان زيد بن خالد الجهني - ﵁ - قَالَ: قَالَ رسولُ الله - ﷺ: «مَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا في سَبيلِ اللهِ فَقَدْ غَزَا، وَمَنْ خَلَفَ غَازيًا في أهْلِهِ بِخَيرٍ فَقَدْ غَزَا». مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيهِ.
On the authority of Abu ʿAbd al-Rahman Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever equips a warrior in the way of Allah has himself fought, and whoever looks after a warrior's family well in his absence has himself fought." Agreed upon.
وعن أَبي سعيد الخدري - ﵁: أن رَسُول الله - ﷺ - بعث بعثًا إِلَى بني لِحْيَان مِنْ هُذَيْلٍ، فَقَالَ: «لِيَنْبَعِثْ مِنْ كُلِّ رَجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا وَالأجْرُ بَيْنَهُمَا». رواه مسلم.
On the authority of Abu Saʿid al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him: that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dispatched an expedition to Banu Lihyan of Hudhayl, and said: "Let one of every two men set out, and the reward will be shared between them both." Narrated by Muslim.
وعن ابن عباس ﵄: أنَّ رَسُول الله - ﷺ - لَقِيَ رَكْبًا بالرَّوْحَاءِ ، فَقَالَ: «مَنِ القَوْمُ؟» قالوا: المسلمون، فقالوا: من أنتَ؟ قَالَ: «رَسُول الله»، فرفعت إِلَيْه امرأةٌ صبيًا، فَقَالَتْ: ألِهَذَا حَجٌّ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، وَلَكِ أجْرٌ». رواه مسلم.
On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbas, may Allah be pleased with them both: that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met a party of riders at al-Rawha and said: "Who are the people?" They said: The Muslims. They asked: Who are you? He said: "The Messenger of Allah." Then a woman lifted up a small child to him and said: Is there hajj for this one? He said: "Yes, and you will have a reward." Narrated by Muslim.
وعن أَبي موسى الأشعري - ﵁ - عن النَّبيّ - ﷺ - أنَّه قَالَ: «الخَازِنُ المُسْلِمُ الأمِينُ الَّذِي يُنفِذُ مَا أُمِرَ بِهِ فيُعْطيهِ كَامِلًا مُوَفَّرًا طَيِّبَةً بِهِ نَفْسُهُ فَيَدْفَعُهُ إِلَى الَّذِي أُمِرَ لَهُ بِهِ، أحَدُ المُتَصَدِّقين». مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيهِ. وفي رواية: «الَّذِي يُعْطِي مَا أُمِرَ بِهِ» وضبطوا «المُتَصَدِّقَينِ» بفتح القاف مَعَ كسر النون عَلَى التثنية، وعكسه عَلَى الجمعِ وكلاهما صحيح.
On the authority of Abu Musa al-Ashʿari, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet ﷺ, that he said: "The trustworthy Muslim treasurer who carries out what he is ordered to do and gives it in full and complete, with his soul pleased with it, then delivers it to the one he was ordered to give it to, is one of the two who give in charity." Agreed upon. In another narration: "who gives what he is ordered to do." They vowelled *al-mutasaddiqayn* with a fatha on the qaf together with a kasra on the nun, taking it as the dual form, and the reverse for the plural, and both are correct.
