Hadith1353

- ﵁ - - ﷺ: ».

On the authority of Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Martyrs are five: the one who dies of plague, the one who dies of an abdominal illness, the one who drowns, the one killed by a collapsing building, and the one martyred in the path of Allah." Agreed upon.

Hadith1354

- ﷺ:

On his authority, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whom do you count as martyrs among you?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, whoever is killed in the path of Allah is a martyr." He said: "Then the martyrs of my nation would indeed be few!" They said: "Then who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Whoever is killed in the path of Allah is a martyr; whoever dies in the path of Allah is a martyr; whoever dies of the plague is a martyr; whoever dies of an abdominal illness is a martyr; and the one who drowns is a martyr." Narrated by Muslim.

Hadith1355

﵄، - ﷺ:

On the authority of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr." Agreed upon.

Hadith1356

وعن أَبي الأعْوَر سعيد بن زيد بن عَمْرو بن نُفَيْل، أحَدِ العَشَرَةِ المَشْهُودِ لَهُمْ بِالجَنَّةِ - ﵃ - قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رسول الله - ﷺ - يقول: «مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهيدٌ، وَمَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ دَمِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ، وَمَنْ قتِلَ دُونَ دِينهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ، وَمَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ أهْلِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ». رواه أَبُو داود والترمذي، وقال: «حديث حسن صحيح».

On the authority of Abū al-Aʿwar Saʿīd ibn Zayd ibn ʿAmr ibn Nufayl — one of the ten given glad tidings of Paradise (may Allah be pleased with them) — who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: "Whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr; whoever is killed defending his life is a martyr; whoever is killed defending his religion is a martyr; and whoever is killed defending his family is a martyr." Narrated by Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī, who said: "A good and sound hadith."

Hadith1357

وعن أَبي هريرة - ﵁ - قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رسول الله - ﷺ - فَقَالَ: يَا رسولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيتَ إنْ جَاءَ رجلٌ يُرِيدُ أخْذَ مَالِي؟ قَالَ: «فَلاَ تُعْطِهِ مَالَكَ» قَالَ: أَرَأَيْتَ إنْ قَاتَلَنِي؟ قَالَ: «قَاتِلْهُ» قَالَ: أرَأَيْتَ إنْ قَتَلَنِي؟ قَالَ: «فَأنْتَ شَهِيدٌ» قَالَ: أَرَأيْتَ إنْ قَتَلْتُهُ؟ قَالَ: «هُوَ فِي النَّارِ». رواه مسلم.

On the authority of Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if a man comes intending to take my property?" He said: "Then do not give him your property." He said: "What do you think if he fights me?" He said: "Then fight him." He said: "What do you think if he kills me?" He said: "Then you are a martyr." He said: "What do you think if I kill him?" He said: "He is in the Fire." Narrated by Muslim.
