٣٠٤ - باب النهي عن التطير
- ﵁ - - ﷺ:
From Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no contagion and no evil omen, but the good omen pleases me." They said: "And what is the good omen?" He said: "A good word." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

From Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no contagion and no evil omen. But if there were ill fortune in anything, it would be in the dwelling, the woman, and the horse." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
وعن بُريْدَةَ - ﵁: أنَّ النبيَّ - ﷺ - كَانَ لا يَتَطَيَّرُ. رواه أَبُو داود بإسناد صحيح.
From Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him): that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not take ill omens. Narrated by Abu Dawud with a sound chain.
وعن عُروة بن عامر - ﵁ - قال: ذُكِرَتِ الطِّيَرَةُ عِنْدَ رَسولِ اللهِ - ﷺ - فقالَ: «أحْسَنُهَا الفَألُ. وَلاَ تَرُدُّ مُسْلِمًا فإذا رَأى أحَدُكُمْ ما يَكْرَهُ، فَليْقلْ: اللَّهُمَّ لاَ يَأتِي بِالحَسَناتِ إلاَّ أنْتَ، وَلاَ يَدْفَعُ السَّيِّئَاتِ إلاَّ أنْتَ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إلاَّ بِكَ» حديث صحيح رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح.
From ʿUrwah ibn ʿAmir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Evil omens were mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "The best of it is the good omen. It should not turn a Muslim back; so when one of you sees something he dislikes, let him say: 'O Allah, none brings good things but You, and none averts evil things but You, and there is no might and no power except by You.'" A sound hadith, narrated by Abu Dawud with a sound chain.
