٢٨ - باب ستر عورات المسلمين والنهي عن إشاعتها لغير ضرورة

On the authority of Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “No servant conceals [the faults of] another servant in this world but that Allah will conceal him on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by Muslim.

And on his authority, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “All of my nation will be pardoned except those who flaunt [their sins]. Part of flaunting is that a man commits a deed by night, then rises in the morning while Allah has concealed it for him, yet he says: ‘O so-and-so, last night I did such and such.’ His Lord had spent the night concealing him, but he rises in the morning uncovering Allah’s concealment of him.” Agreed upon.

And on his authority, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “If a slave-woman commits fornication and her fornication is established, let him administer the prescribed punishment (ḥadd) to her and not reproach her. Then if she fornicates a second time, let him administer the prescribed punishment to her and not reproach her. Then if she fornicates a third time, let him sell her, even for a rope of hair.” Agreed upon. [The word] “al-tathrīb” means reproach.

And on his authority, who said: A man who had drunk wine was brought to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: “Strike him.” Abū Hurayrah said: So among us was the one who struck with his hand, the one who struck with his sandal, and the one who struck with his garment. When he had departed, some of the people said: “May Allah disgrace you!” He ﷺ said: “Do not speak like this; do not help Satan against him.” Narrated by al-Bukhārī.
