Hadith1496

﵄، - ﷺ:

From Usāmah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever is shown a kindness and says to the one who did it [review: quoted words of thanks are missing in the Arabic text], he has indeed expressed the fullest praise." Narrated by al-Tirmidhī, who said: "A good, sound hadith."

Hadith1497

- ﵁ - - ﷺ:

From Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not invoke against yourselves; do not invoke against your children; and do not invoke against your wealth — lest you coincide with a moment from Allah in which He is asked for a gift and He answers you." Narrated by Muslim.

Hadith1498

- ﵁: - ﷺ -

From Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The closest a servant is to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so increase supplication." Narrated by Muslim.

Hadith1499

وعنه: أنَّ رسُولَ الله - ﷺ - قَالَ: «يُسْتَجَابُ لأَحَدِكُمْ مَا لَمْ يَعْجَلْ: يقُولُ: قَدْ دَعْوتُ رَبِّي، فَلَمْ يسْتَجب لِي» متفق عَلَيْهِ. وفي روايةٍ لمسلمٍ: «لا يَزالُ يُسْتَجَابُ لِلعَبْدِ مَا لَمْ يَدْعُ بإثْمٍ، أَوْ قَطيعَةِ رحِمٍ، مَا لَمْ يَسْتَعْجِلْ» قيل: يَا رسولَ اللهِ مَا الاستعجال؟ قَالَ: «يقول: قَدْ دَعوْتُ، وَقَدْ دَعَوْتُ، فَلَمْ أرَ يسْتَجِبُ لي، فَيَسْتحْسِرُ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ وَيَدَعُ الدُّعَاءَ ».

From him: that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Your supplication is answered so long as you do not rush, saying: 'I have called upon my Lord and He has not answered me.'" Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim). In a narration of Muslim: "The servant's supplication continues to be answered so long as he does not supplicate for sin or severing kinship ties, and so long as he does not rush." It was said: O Messenger of Allah, what is rushing? He said: "He says: 'I have called upon Him and I have called upon Him, yet I do not see Him answering me,' so he despairs at that and abandons supplication."

Hadith1500

وعن أَبي أمامة - ﵁ - قَالَ: قيل لِرسولِ اللهِ - ﷺ: أيُّ الدُّعاءِ أَسْمَعُ؟ قَالَ: «جَوْفَ اللَّيْلِ الآخِرِ، وَدُبُرَ الصَّلَواتِ المَكْتُوباتِ». رواه الترمذي، وقال: «حديث حسن».

From Abū Umāmah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: it was said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: which supplication is most heard? He said: "In the depth of the latter part of the night, and after the prescribed prayers." Narrated by al-Tirmidhī, who said: "A good hadith."

Hadith1501

وعن عُبَادَةَ بنِ الصامت - ﵁: أنَّ رسولَ اللهِ - ﷺ - قَالَ: «مَا عَلَى الأرْضِ مُسْلِمٌ يَدْعُو الله تَعَالَى بِدَعْوَةٍ إِلاَّ آتَاهُ اللهُ إيَّاها، أَوْ صَرفَ عَنْهُ مِنَ السُّوءِ مِثْلَهَا، مَا لَمْ يَدْعُ بإثْمٍ، أَوْ قَطِيعَةِ رَحِمٍ»، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ القَومِ: إِذًا نُكْثِرُ قَالَ: «اللهُ أكْثَرُ». رواه الترمذي، وقال: «حديث حسن صحيح». ورواه الحاكم من روايةِ أَبي سعيدٍ وزاد فِيهِ: «أَوْ يَدخِرَ لَهُ مِن الأَجْرِ مثْلَها» .

From ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit (may Allah be pleased with him): that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There is no Muslim on earth who calls upon Allah, the Exalted, with a supplication except that Allah grants it to him, or wards off from him harm equal to it, so long as he does not supplicate for sin or severing kinship ties." A man from the people said: in that case we shall ask abundantly. He said: "Allah is more abundant." Narrated by al-Tirmidhī, who said: "A good, sound hadith." Al-Ḥākim also narrated it from the narration of Abū Saʿīd, adding in it: "or stores up for him reward equal to it."

Hadith1502

وعن ابنِ عباس ﵄: أنَّ رسولَ الله - ﷺ - كَانَ يقولُ عِنْدَ الكَرْبِ: متفق عَلَيْهِ.

From Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with him): that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say at times of distress: [review: supplication text missing in the Arabic]. Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim).
