On the authority of ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her): that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray two light rakʿahs between the call to prayer and the iqāmah of the dawn prayer. Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim). In a version reported by both of them: He would pray the two rakʿahs of Fajr and make them so light that I would say, "Did he recite the Mother of the Qurʾān (al-Fātiḥah) in them?" In a version by Muslim: He used to pray the two rakʿahs of Fajr when he heard the adhān, and would make them light. And in a version: when the dawn broke.
