Allah the Exalted has said:
رياض الصالحينAbū Zakariyyā Muḥyī al-Dīn Yaḥyā ibn Sharaf al-Nawawī٢٣٧ - باب فضل الإحسان إلى المملوك

ۖ
Worship Allāh and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side,1 the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allāh does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful,

From al-Maʿrūr ibn Suwayd, who said: I saw Abū Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) wearing a fine garment (ḥullah), and his servant was wearing the like of it. I asked him about that, and he mentioned that he had reviled a man during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, taunting him about his mother. So the Prophet ﷺ said: “You are a man in whom there is [something of] pre-Islamic ignorance (jāhiliyyah). They are your brothers and your dependents, whom Allah has placed under your authority. So whoever has his brother under his charge, let him feed him from what he eats and clothe him from what he wears, and do not burden them with what overwhelms them; and if you do burden them, then help them.” Agreed upon.
وعن أَبي هريرة - ﵁ - عن النبيِّ - ﷺ - قَالَ: «إِذَا أَتَى أحَدَكُمْ خَادِمُهُ بِطَعَامِهِ، فَإنْ لَمْ يُجْلِسْهُ مَعَهُ، فَلْيُنَاوِلْهُ لُقْمَةً أَوْ لُقْمَتَيْنِ أَوْ أُكْلَةً أَوْ أُكْلَتَيْنِ؛ فَإنَّهُ وَلِيَ عِلاَجَهُ ». رواه البخاري. «الأُكْلَةُ» بضم الهمزة: وَهِيَ اللُّقْمَةُ.
From Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “When the servant of one of you brings him his food, if he does not seat him with him, then let him hand him a morsel or two morsels, or a mouthful or two mouthfuls; for indeed he undertook its preparation.” Al-Bukhārī narrated it. “Al-uklah” — with a ḍammah on the hamzah — it is the morsel (luqmah).
