Allah the Exalted said:
رياض الصالحينAbū Zakariyyā Muḥyī al-Dīn Yaḥyā ibn Sharaf al-Nawawī٢٢ - باب في النصيحة
٢٢ - باب في النصيحة
The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allāh that you may receive mercy.
- ﷺ:
And Allah the Exalted said, relating about Nūḥ (peace be upon him):
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
I convey to you the messages of my Lord and advise you; and I know from Allāh what you do not know.
وعن هود - ﷺ:
And about Hūd (peace be upon him):
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنَا۠ لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ
I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am to you a trustworthy adviser.
وأما الأحاديث:
As for the hadiths:
فالأول: عن أَبي رُقَيَّةَ تَمِيم بن أوس الداريِّ - ﵁: أنَّ النَّبيّ - ﷺ - قَالَ: «الدِّينُ النَّصِيحةُ» قلنا: لِمَنْ؟ قَالَ: «لِلهِ وَلِكِتَابِهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلأئِمَّةِ المُسْلِمِينَ وَعَامَّتِهِمْ ». رواه مسلم.
The first: On the authority of Abū Ruqayyah Tamīm ibn Aws al-Dārī (may Allah be pleased with him): that the Prophet ﷺ said: «The religion is sincere counsel.» We said: To whom? He said: «To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the leaders of the Muslims, and to their common folk.» Narrated by Muslim.
الثاني: عن جرير بن عبد الله - ﵁ - قَالَ: بَايَعْتُ رسولَ الله - ﷺ - عَلَى إقَامِ الصَّلاةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، والنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ. مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيهِ.
The second: On the authority of Jarīr ibn ʿAbd Allāh (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon establishing the prayer, giving the zakāh, and offering sincere counsel to every Muslim. Agreed upon.
الثالث: عن أنس - ﵁ - عن النَّبيّ - ﷺ - قَالَ: «لا يُؤمِنُ أحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّ لأَخِيهِ مَا يُحبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيهِ.
The third: On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: «None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.» Agreed upon.
