It is a warning against taking such a person as a model in his innovation, his sinful conduct, and the like. Relevant to it are the verse and the hadiths mentioned earlier in the preceding chapter.

And on the authority of ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Do not revile the dead, for they have already passed on to what they sent ahead." Al-Bukhārī narrated it.
