Allah, the Exalted, has said:
رياض الصالحينAbū Zakariyyā Muḥyī al-Dīn Yaḥyā ibn Sharaf al-Nawawī٥٩ - باب الحث على الأكل من عمل يده والتعفف به عن السؤال والتعرض للإعطاء

And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allāh, and remember Allāh often that you may succeed.
- ﵁ - - ﷺ:
Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Zubayr ibn al-ʿAwwām (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "That one of you should take his ropes and go to the mountain, then bring back a bundle of firewood on his back and sell it, by which Allah preserves his dignity, is better for him than begging from people, whether they give him or refuse him." Narrated by al-Bukhārī.
وعن أَبي هريرة - ﵁ - قَالَ: قَالَ رسول الله - ﷺ: «لأَنْ يَحْتَطِبَ أحَدُكُمْ حُزْمَةً عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْألَ أحدًا، فَيُعْطِيَهُ أَوْ يَمْنَعَهُ». متفقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "That one of you should gather a bundle of firewood on his back is better for him than to beg from someone who may give him or refuse him." Agreed upon.
وعنه، عن النبيِّ - ﷺ - قَالَ: «كَانَ دَاوُدُ - ﵇ - لاَ يَأكُلُ إِلاَّ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدِهِ». رواه البخاري.
He also reported from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "Dāwūd (peace be upon him) used to eat only from the labour of his own hand." Narrated by al-Bukhārī.
وعنه: أنَّ رسول الله - ﷺ - قَالَ: «كَانَ زَكرِيّا - ﵇ - نَجَّارًا». رواه مسلم.
He also reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Zakariyyā (peace be upon him) was a carpenter." Narrated by Muslim.
وعن المقدام بنِ مَعْدِ يكرِبَ - ﵁ - عن النبي - ﷺ - قَالَ: «مَا أكَلَ أَحَدٌ طَعَامًا قَطُّ خَيْرًا مِنْ أَنْ يَأكُلَ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدِه، وَإنَّ نَبيَّ الله دَاوُدَ - ﷺ - كَانَ يَأكُلُ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدِهِ». رواه البخاري.
Al-Miqdām ibn Maʿdīkarib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "No one has ever eaten any food better than what he eats from the labour of his own hand. Indeed, the Prophet of Allah Dāwūd (peace be upon him) used to eat from the labour of his own hand." Narrated by al-Bukhārī.
