٢١٣ - باب استحباب قيام رمضان وهو التراويح

On the authority of Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever stands in prayer during Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his past sins are forgiven.” Agreed upon.

And on his authority (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to encourage standing in prayer during Ramadan, without commanding them to it as a binding obligation, saying: “Whoever stands in prayer during Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his past sins are forgiven.” Narrated by Muslim.
