On the authority of ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever prays the ʿishāʾ (night prayer) in congregation, it is as though he had stood [in prayer] for half the night; and whoever prays the ṣubḥ (dawn prayer) in congregation, it is as though he had prayed the whole night." Narrated by Muslim. And in the narration of al-Tirmidhī, on the authority of ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever attends the ʿishāʾ in congregation shall have [the reward of] standing half a night [in prayer], and whoever prays the ʿishāʾ and the fajr in congregation shall have [a reward] like that of standing a whole night." Al-Tirmidhī said: "A good and sound ḥadīth (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ)."
