Hadith580

- ﵁ - - ﷺ:

Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I had forbidden you from visiting graves, but now visit them." Narrated by Muslim. In another narration: "Whoever wishes to visit graves, let him visit them, for they remind us of the Hereafter."

Hadith581

﵂، - ﷺ - - ﷺ - ».

ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: Whenever it was her night with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would go out at the end of the night to al-Baqīʿ and say: "Peace be upon you, O abode of a believing people. What you were promised has come to you; tomorrow you will receive it at its appointed time. And we, if Allah wills, shall join you. O Allah, forgive the people of Baqīʿ al-Gharqad." Narrated by Muslim.

Hadith582

- ﵁ - - ﷺ -

Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet ﷺ used to teach them that, when they went out to the graveyards, the one speaking among them should say: "Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of these abodes from among the believers and the Muslims. And we, if Allah wills, shall join you. I ask Allah for well-being for us and for you." Narrated by Muslim.

Hadith583

وعن ابن عباسٍ ﵄، قَالَ: مرَّ رسول الله - ﷺ - بِقُبورٍ بالمدِينَةِ فَأقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِوَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ: «السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا أهْلَ القُبُورِ، يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لَنَا وَلَكُمْ، أنْتُمْ سَلَفُنَا وَنَحنُ بالأثَرِ». رواه الترمذي، وقال: «حديث حسن».

Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by some graves in Medina, turned his face towards them, and said: "Peace be upon you, O people of the graves. May Allah forgive us and you. You are our predecessors, and we are following on." Narrated by al-Tirmidhī, who said: "A good (ḥasan) hadith."
