Allah, the Exalted, said:
٧٦ - باب احتمال الأذى
Allah, the Exalted, said:
Who spend [in the cause of Allāh] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allāh loves the doers of good;
And He, the Exalted, also said:
And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of resolve.1
And in this chapter: the hadiths already cited in the chapter before it.
And on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah the Exalted be pleased with him): that a man said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have relatives whom I keep ties with while they sever ties with me, I treat well while they treat me badly, and I am forbearing towards them while they behave foolishly towards me!" He said: "If you are as you say, then it is as though you are feeding them hot ashes, and there will not cease to be with you, from Allah the Exalted, a supporter against them so long as you remain upon that." Narrated by Muslim. Its explanation has already preceded in the chapter on maintaining family ties.
