- ﵁ - - ﷺ:
Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you is invited, let him respond. If he is fasting, let him pray; and if he is not fasting, let him eat." Narrated by Muslim. The scholars said: the meaning of "let him pray" (fa-l-yuṣalli) is "let him supplicate," and the meaning of "let him eat" (fa-l-yaṭʿam) is "let him eat" (fa-l-yaʾkul).
