رياض الصالحينAbū Zakariyyā Muḥyī al-Dīn Yaḥyā ibn Sharaf al-Nawawī١٩٠ - باب فضل انتظار الصلاة
On the authority of Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "One of you remains in prayer so long as the prayer keeps him waiting; nothing prevents him from returning to his family but the prayer." Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim).
On his authority (may Allah be pleased with him): that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The angels invoke blessings upon one of you so long as he remains in the place of prayer where he prayed, as long as he does not break his wuḍūʾ, saying, 'O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, have mercy on him.'" Narrated by al-Bukhārī.
On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night delayed the ʿIshāʾ prayer until midnight, then turned his face towards us after he had prayed and said, "The people have prayed and gone to sleep, yet you have not ceased to be in prayer ever since you waited for it." Narrated by al-Bukhārī.
