٩٨ - باب استحباب الذهاب إلى العيد وعيادة المريض والحج والغزو والجنازة ونحوها من طريق، والرجوع من طريق آخر لتكثير مواضع العبادة

On the authority of Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: When it was the day of Eid, the Prophet ﷺ would take a different route. Narrated by al-Bukhārī. His saying, "he took a different route," means: he would go out by one route and return by another.

And on the authority of Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both): that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go out by the route of al-Shajarah and enter by the route of al-Muʿarras; and when he entered Mecca, he would enter through the upper mountain pass and go out through the lower mountain pass. Agreed upon.
