٢١٨ - باب الجود وفعل المعروف والإكثار من الخير في شهر رمضان والزيادة من ذلك في العشر الأواخر منه

On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the most generous of people, and he was at his most generous during Ramadan, when Jibrīl would meet him. Jibrīl used to meet him every night of Ramadan and study the Qur'an with him. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when Jibrīl met him, was more generous with good than the free-blowing wind. Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim).

On the authority of ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: When the last ten (nights of Ramadan) arrived, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would spend the night in worship, wake his family, and gird his waist-wrapper (i.e. devote himself wholly to worship). Agreed upon (al-Bukhārī and Muslim).
