والشهيد:The martyr: كلevery مسلمMuslim قتلهwas killed كافرdisbeliever أَوor مسلمMuslim ظلماwrongfully قتلاkilled لمnot يجبis due بهfor it مال.blood-money.
The martyr is every Muslim killed by a disbeliever or wrongfully killed by a Muslim when no blood-money is due for it.
فلاthen not يغسلis washed إلاّexcept إذاwhen قتِلَhe was killed جنباjunub أوor صَبيا.as a child.
He is not washed unless killed junub or as a child.
ولاand not يغْسلis washed off دمه،his blood, ولاand not ينْزعis removed ثيابه،his garments, وينزعand is removed كلevery ماthing عليهon him منof غيرother than جنسtype الكفن،shroud, ويكمّلand is completed كفنه،his shroud, ثمّthen يصلَّىis prayed over عليه.on him.
His blood is not washed off, his clothes are not removed; everything on him not of the shroud material is removed, the shroud is completed, then he is prayed over.
وكلand every جريحwounded person أَكَل،ate, أوor شَرَب،drank, أوor نام،slept, أوor عولج،was treated, أوor ضَمهhad over him سَقف،a roof, أوor نقِلَwas carried منfrom المعركةthe battlefield حَياًalive لاnot لخوفfor fear of وطءِtrampling الخيل،horses, أوor مَرpassed عليهupon him وقتtime صلاةٍof a prayer وهوwhilst he حَيalive يعقل،sane, أوor أَوصىinstructed بأَمرregarding a matter دنيويworldly غسِّل.is washed.
Every wounded person who ate, drank, slept, was treated, had a roof placed over him, was carried from the battlefield alive not for fear of horses trampling him, or a prayer time passed while he was alive and sane, or he instructed a worldly matter—is washed.
