ومنهاand of them سجدةprostration ص.ṣād.
Among them is the “ṣād” prostration.
وتجبand is obligatory علىon التاليthe reciter والسّامع،and the hearer, ووجوبهاand its obligation [is] علىon التراخي،delayed hearing, ولاand not تجبis obligatory علىon مَنwhoever لاnot تجبis obligatory عليهon him الصّلاةprayer ولاnor قضاؤها:making it up: كالحائض،such as the menstruating woman, والنفساء،and woman in nifās, والصبيّ،and the child, والمجنون،and the insane person, والكافر.and the disbeliever.
It is obligatory on the reciter and the hearer; obligation is on delay; it is not obligatory on one for whom prayer is not obligatory nor its make-up—such as menstruant, postpartum, child, insane, or disbeliever.
وتجبand is obligatory علىon مَنwhoever سمعَهاheard it منهم.among them.
It is obligatory on whoever hears it from them.
ولوand if سمعَهاit was heard منfrom الطوطيّa parrot والنائم،and the sleeper, قيل:it is said: لاnot تجب.obligatory.
If heard from a parrot or sleeper, it is said: not obligatory.
وتجبand is obligatory علىon التاليthe reciter الأصم.the deaf.
It is obligatory on the deaf reciter.
وإنand if قرأهاrecited it المأمومthe follower خلفbehind الإمامthe imām لمdid not يسجدهاprostrate for it هوhe ولاnor الإمامthe imām فيin الصلاةprayer ولاnor بعدها.after it.
If the follower recites it behind the imām neither he nor the imām prostrates it in prayer or after.
والسجدةand the prostration الصَّلاتيةof prayer لاnot تقْضَىis made up خارجoutside الصلاة.prayer.
The prayer prostration is not made up outside prayer.
ومنand whoever قرأrecited آيةa verse سجدةof prostration ولمand did not يسجدهاprostrate for it حتىuntil صَلىhe prayed فيin مَجلسهhis session وأَعادهاand he repeated it وسَجَدand he prostrated سقطتا،both drop, ولوand if كانhad سجدprostrated للأولىfor the first قبلbefore الصلاةprayer سجدprostrates للأخرىfor the second فيها.in it.
Whoever recites a verse of prostration and does not prostrate until he prays in the same session then repeats it and prostrates—both [prostrations] drop; if he prostrated for the first before prayer he prostrates for the second in prayer.
ومتىand when اتحدcoincide المجلسsession والآيةand the verse تداخلت،they overlap, ومتىand when اختلفdiffer أحدهماone of the two تعدَّدت،they multiply, ولاand not يختلفends المجلسthe session بمجردmerely by القيام،standing, ولاnor بخطوةby one step أوor بخطوتين،by two steps, ولقمةnor by one morsel أوor لقمتين.two morsels.
When session and verse coincide they overlap; when either differs they multiply; the session is not broken by mere standing, nor one or two steps, nor one or two bites.
والسفينةand the ship الجاريةmoving كالبيت.is like the house.
A moving ship is like a house.
ولوand if كرّرهاhe repeated it علىon الدابةthe mount وهيwhilst it تسير:is moving: فإنso if كانwas فيin الصّلاةprayer اتحدت،they coincide, وإنand if لمnot يكنwas فيهاin it تعدَّدت،they multiply, وإذاand when تلاهاhe recites it علىon الدابةthe mount أجزأتهsuffices for him بالإيماء.by gesturing.
If he repeats it on a moving mount: if in prayer they coincide; if not in prayer they multiply; if he recites it on a mount, gesturing suffices.
وهيand it [is] كسجدةlike the prostration الصلاةof prayer بغيرwithout تشهّدtashahhud وسلام.and salām.
It is like the prayer prostration without tashahhud or salām.
