We love the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace; we do not go to excess in love of any one of them; we do not disavow any one of them; we hate those who hate them and mention them with other than good; we mention them only with good. Love of them is religion, faith, and excellence; hatred of them is unbelief, hypocrisy, and rebellion

Ruling111

We affirm the caliphate after the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, first for Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, out of preference for him and precedence over the whole community; then for Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him; then for Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him; then for Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him. They are the rightly guided caliphs and guided imams

Ruling112

We testify that the ten whom the Messenger of Allah named and gave glad tidings of Paradise will enter Paradise — upon what the Messenger of Allah testified, and his word is truth. They are: Abū Bakr, ʿUmar, ʿUthmān, ʿAlī, Ṭalḥah, al-Zubayr, Saʿd, Saʿīd, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf, and Abū ʿUbaydah ibn al-Jarrāḥ — [he is the trustee] of this community; may Allah be pleased with them all

Ruling113

وَمَنْ أَحْسَنَ القَوْلَ فِي أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَزْوَاجِهِ الطَّاهِرَاتِ مِنْ كُلِّ دَنَسٍ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِ المُقَدَّسِينَ مِنْ كُلِّ رِجْسٍ فَقَدْ بَرِئَ مِنَ النِّفَاقِ

Whoever speaks well of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, of his pure wives free of every stain, and of his sanctified progeny free of every defilement, is free of hypocrisy

Ruling114

وَعُلَمَاءُ السَّلَفِ مِنَ السَّابِقِينَ وَمَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ أَهْلُ الخَيْرِ وَالأَثَرِ وَأَهْلُ الفِقْهِ وَالنَّظَرِ لَا يُذْكَرُونَ إِلَّا بِالجَمِيلِ، وَمَنْ ذَكَرَهُمْ بِسُوءٍ فَهُوَ عَلَى غَيْرِ السَّبِيلِ

The scholars of the early generations among the forerunners, and those after them among the Followers, the people of good and transmitted reports and the people of jurisprudence and reflection, are mentioned only with what is beautiful; whoever mentions them with evil is upon other than the path

Ruling115

ولا نفضل أحدًا من الأولياء على أحد من الأنبياء، ونقول: «نبي واحد أفضل من جميع الأولياء» ، ونؤمن بما جاء من كراماتهم وصح عن الثقات من رواياتهم

And we do not prefer any of the saints over any of the prophets, and we say: "One prophet is superior to all the saints," and we believe in what has come of their miracles that is soundly reported from trustworthy narrators

Ruling116

وَنُؤْمِنُ بِأَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ مِنْ خُرُوجِ الدَّجَّالِ وَنُزُولِ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ عليه السلام مِنَ السَّمَاءِ، وَنُؤْمِنُ بِطُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا وَخُرُوجِ دَابَّةِ الأَرْضِ مِنْ مَوْضِعِهَا

We believe in the signs of the Hour, including the emergence of the Dajjal and the descent of Isa ibn Maryam, peace be upon him, from heaven. We believe in the rising of the sun from its west and the emergence of the Beast of the Earth from its place

Ruling117

ولا نصدق كاهناً ولا عرافاً ، ولا من يدعي شيئاً بخلاف الكتاب والسنة وإجماع الأمة

And we do not believe a soothsayer or a diviner, nor anyone who claims something contrary to the Book, the Sunna, and the consensus of the Community
